A Better Proposals alternative for people stuck before the template

Better Proposals is cheap and good at what it does. Signatures, payments and tracking sit on every plan, and Starter is $13 per user a month billed annually, which is less than Loadout costs. The difference is where the work starts. Better Proposals hands you a template to fill in, and Loadout reads the client's data and hands back three priced options, the exclusions and the cover email, with no signature of its own.

Choosing

Better Proposals or Loadout.

Stay with Better Proposals if

  • You need the signature. Better Proposals signs inside the document on every plan and says it meets EU and US electronic signature rules, and Loadout has no signature product.
  • You take the deposit in the document. Stripe, GoCardless and PayPal sit on every plan, and there is no checkout here.
  • Price is the whole question. Starter is $13 per user a month billed annually, under $29, as long as one seat and ten sends a month are enough.

Look at Loadout if

  • You only know what to charge after an hour of digging. The pricing power reads the three nearest alternatives' live prices and shows the arithmetic for about 13 credits, and the offer builder sets the tiers and a costed guarantee for about 11.
  • Ten sends a month is tight. Loadout has no send limit, and the proposal power costs nothing in credits unless a market price anchor is needed.
  • Proposals are one line on your software bill.

Questions

Before you run it.

What does Better Proposals cost right now+

Read from their pricing page on 1 Nov 2026. Starter is $13 per user a month billed annually, or $19 monthly, with one seat and 10 sends a month. Enterprise is $42 billed annually, or $49 monthly, with unlimited sends. There is a 14 day trial with no card, Nudge is $10 per user a month and custom template design starts at $1,495.

Can Loadout sign a proposal or take the payment+

No to both. The close kit page asks the client to accept by replying with the option they picked, which is a simple electronic signature with no certificate and no audit trail, and the page carries your own payment link with the instalment amounts and their dates. Writing the proposal here and signing it in a tool built for signing is a fair setup.

Is Loadout more expensive+

For proposals on their own, yes.

What goes into a Loadout proposal+

Three priced options with scope, exclusions, a timeline and a validity date, plus a short cover email, built from the client's own words and numbers. It publishes as a page and reports whether it was opened and for how long.
